DNS
Local name resolution is handled by the Fios router. It does name resolution for the domain set in Advanced > System Settings > Local Domain
Things that get 'User Defined' entries in Advanced > DNS Server
.
- Devices with static IPs
- dynamic DNS domains that point to my public IP (match the IP to wherever relevant ports are forwarded)
- plex.direct (for plex secure connections)
If a device connects via multiple interfaces the name resolution can break. There isn't a good interface to clear these. One way is to reset the DHCP range (Advanced > IP Address Distribution
) to some non-overlapping range, apply settings, then reset it again.
